This week PAAWS RI was asked to assist in a horrendous hoarding case in Pawtucket.

We are grateful for the dedicated PAAWS RI volunteers who stepped in to assist the Rhode Island Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in removing these animals from deplorable conditions and escorting them to the safety of our PAAWS RI shelter. We are also thankful for your support in ensuring these cats get the best possible care and treatment from the Care for Animals/PAAWS RI team.

All of the rescued cats need urgent care for severe malnourishment, flea infestation, and upper respiratory infections, and will soon need to be altered, vaccinated, tested for FIV/FeLv and parasites.

PAAWS RI needs  your help: we are currently treating and housing 21 cats rescued from the house in Pawtucket. There are reportedly dozens more still hiding inside, and we are working with the RISPCA to get them to safety.

We need your financial support to cover the cost of care and housing of these cats.

Thank you for your help in giving these animals the care they so desperately need! We will keep you updated on their condition as they receive treatment.

Do you still need towels/linens? I have many bath towels that are older but clean.

So sad to see this, but want to say on behalf of these poor cats & kittens, thank you for your outstanding love and care! Thank God someone reported this and I hope the ones responsible are caught and punished.. Could you let me know what supplies are most needed?

Hi Karen. Thanks for your support. Right now we could really use non-clumping litter, linens (gently used is fine), and monetary donations. Thank you!
