CAT ADOPTION ALERT: MERLIN – A MEDIUM-HAIRED WIZARD OF CUTENESS

MERLIN is a one year old black and white male cat. Merlin has cerebellar hypoplasia, a neurological happenstance that can occur at birth. It is a non-progressive and non-contagious condition that causes Merlin to have an odd gait when walking. We suspect this may have led to Merlin’s appearance in an inner-city back yard, abandoned and homeless. This poor boy was in tough shape: he was extremely hungry, thin, dirty and matted. Merlin is very affectionate, curious, and easy-going. He loves to engage with humans,...

CAT ADOPTION ALERT: MARCEL – PICK ME! PICK ME!

MARCEL is a five-year-old orange male cat. Marcel came to us from an owner that is moving, and cannot take all of her several cats. A year ago another cat came into the household and took an intense dislike to Marcel. This poor boy had a pretty significant cut on the top of his head from that dislike! Marcel, we have discovered, loves children and is very affectionate with them. Marcel is playful, and loves to cuddle. He also loves it when you to talk to him, and he comes bouncing to the front of his cage to...

CAT ADOPTION ALERT: MAJOR – BIG BOY, BIG HEART

MAJOR is a three year, eight-month-old black and white male cat. Major was found on an inner-city street, and this boy was in tough shape. He was bleeding, limping, and had clumps of missing fur. Major smelled the sardines the volunteer was distributing, said “hello” to them and “goodbye” to the street. Along with his other injuries Major had cuts and scrapes over his entire body, he was very thin, and his eyes were leaking copiously from an upper respiratory infection. The pads of his feet were injured....

CAT ADOPTION ALERT: MILLIE – MOVE OVER BEACH BOYS, MILLIE’S GIVING GOOD VIBRATIONS!

MILLIE is a four-year-old black female cat. Millie was found outside in a backyard, and in tow were her six kittens. Millie was extremely anxious and nervous, and rightly so, the chances of survival for her and her little ones were slim. Millie was a great mom, and now that all her babies are safe and secure it’s Millie’s turn! Our shelter staff and volunteers have worked diligently with Millie, and she is blossoming into an ideal feline companion. Millie loves to be petted, and she’s discovered cat toys,...

CAT ADOPTION ALERT: CHUNKY – MEDIUM HAIRED, AND JUST LIKE THE CANDY, SWEET AND RICH

CHUNKY is a two year, ten-month-old medium haired black and white male cat. Chunky came from the area that was in the news last February, when a resident of the neighborhood was accused of pouring bleach on food left for the stray cats in the area. Chunky was in bad shape; he had ear mites so severe one ear was left close to his head. He had various wounds and scars from his ordeal to survive outside, and was terrified and withdrawn. Our shelter manager worked extensively with him, and Chunky is a different boy...

EMERGENCY FOSTER NEEDED! CJ – ABANDONED AND FORGOTTEN

CJ is an eight-year old brown tabby who is presently a resident at another shelter. CJ’s days are numbered there, and if we don’t take him, this boy will lose his life. His only owners, an elderly couple, decided to go cross-country and did not want to take CJ with them. CJ is a big boy, and has been at the other shelter for approximately 4 months. CJ’s personality has deteriorated because of the shocking and traumatic new circumstances of his life. He spirals quickly between moods of despondency and...
