FIGGY is a five-year-old dilute calico female cat. Though we don’t know the whole story, we suspect that Figgy’s young owner returned to her parents’ home, and Figgy could not tolerate the change. Calicos tend to be oriented most strongly to their owner(s); neither Figgy nor the other residents of the home were able to foster a bond with each other. Coming to the shelter was traumatic for Figgy, for it was an experience as alien to life as she formerly knew it. For two days she huddled in a corner and refused to eat. Now that she’s had a bit of time to adjust she’s doing much better, and gets quite excited when visitors stop by. Figgy bounces right over to meet you, and she basks in the attention. Figgy is playful, and really enjoys cat toys. If you’re familiar with calicos, you know they are indeed their own cat! If you have some time and patience for this displaced petite girl, come meet Figgy. We think in the right household Figgy will blossom into an awesome feline companion.

At PAAWS RI, all of the cats that come into our care are spayed/neutered, receive a rabies vaccination, distemper vaccinations, de-worming, flea treatment, microchipping, testing for Feline Leukemia/FIV, and a fecal test.
